La historia se centra en Doremi Harukaze (bruja rosa), una niña que a veces piensa que no tiene nunca suerte.
La vida de Doremi estaba a punto de cambiar, cuando se tropieza con una vieja tienda llamada MAHO-DO (Tienda Magica). La due?a de la tienda es una bruja llamada Majorika. Doremi se espanta y grita la palabra "bruja", lo que provoca que Majorika se transforme en una masa verda casi permanentemente. Majorika convierte a Doremi en una bruja entren?ndola con el objetivo de que le devuelva su forma humana.
Doremi debe tambien llevar la Tienda Magica ya que Majorika es ahora una masa verda, y doremi acepta inmediatamente y recibe un broche de transformacion llamado Rythm Tap, una escoba para poder volar y una varita magica que se recarga con cuentas magicas.
Doremi comienza su aventura aprendiendo magia basica y a volar. Su aventura en solitario no dura mucho cuando encuentra a su mejor amiga Hazuki Fugiwara (bruha naranja), y una nueva estudiante Aiko Seno (bruja azul). Majorika les da a las dos chicas la oportunidad de ser estudiantes con tal de proteger la verdadera identidad de Doremi.
La verdadera aventura comienza por vivir la vida diaria de las chicas yendo a la escuela,, y trabajando a tiempo parcial en la tienda. La tres chicas transforman MAHO-DO en un lugar mas llamativo para atraer a los clientes.[animerate]
